Meet
Lucy
M.S., Clinical Mental Health Counseling
My name is Lucy Pittenger, and I am a Counselor, Educator, Wife, Mother, and Friend. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 34 years, and we have a 27-year-old daughter who is the light of our lives. Originally from Southeastern Kentucky, I relocated to Murfreesboro upon graduating from college in 1987, which has since become our home. Reflecting on the challenges faced during my upbringing, I carry these experiences as memories rather than defining my future. My aim is to assist others in achieving similar resilience.
I hold an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a master’s degree in Elementary Guidance and Counseling, and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. With 25 years of experience as a classroom teacher in Rutherford County and 10 years as a Middle School Counselor, I recently completed a year-long internship in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have been practicing as a clinician since December 2024.
My journey has been greatly influenced by God’s grace, with twists, turns, ups, and downs along the way. God’s presence has been constant, enriching me with empathy, care, and a desire to support others. My goal is to walk alongside clients, aiding them in their personal journeys and helping them realize their potential while embracing all that God offers. This purpose led me to Voice of the Heart Center and its Spiritual Root System, where Dr. Chip Dodd’s philosophy resonated deeply with me. It aligns seamlessly with VOTH’s mission and objectives, and I am honored to be part of this initiative.
